Top 5 best rally games on Mobile – IOS and Android

Despite being a popular type of racing game, Rally games on mobile doesn’t the same aura than arcade and car simulation like Real Racing 3 or the Asphalt episodes. Still, rally games are one my favorite types of car racing games. I even think that my first 3D racing game was Colin Mc Rae the first. Read the review below if you want to find out the best mobile rally games available on IOS and Android.

In this review, you will find that most of best mobile rally games on IOS and Android are not free to play. I’m ok with that, I prefer paying 2 dollars for a game that has content rather than have low quality and ads every 2 minutes. But that just my opinion!

#1 Rush Rally 2

Rush Rally 2, developed by Brownmonster Limited, is another paid rally games. it has great reviews on the Appstore and Googplay and for reason that this is probably the best rally game on mobile right now.

• Controls: Similar controls scheme than in Colin McRae rally but bit less flexible in a sense that turning left or right won’t instantly turn you car like in Colin Mc Rae. Rush Rally 2 seems more realistic
• Tuning : You can tune your car color, drivetrain, Aerodynamics, Chassis, Suspension, etc..
• Game mode: You can play in Championship, Time Trial, Skill games, Rally Cross and Multiplayer
• Variety of cars : You can drive Lancia Delta, Mini, Ford Focus, Golf, Mitsubishi,..
• Interior view: Its there and playable!
• Multiplayer mode…

There are some negative points too

• Graphics a little bit outdated even though in the category Rally game they can be considered as good
• Control icons are just arrows..Would have been more immersive to add pedals for instance
• There multiplayer, but not enough players.. you can play local tough
• Sounds and voice not great. You can barely here the co-pilot giving you directions
• No visible damages on the car

Rush Rally 2 costs 0.99 USD on IOS and Android.

#2 Colin McRae rally

Colin McRae rally on IOS and Android is the remaster on Colin McRae 2 released years ago on PC and Playstation. This rally game is also in my top car racing games and for many reasons:

• Controls: the best so far for me. You can control the direction, speed and brakes (and handbrake on screen without any automated acceleration,etc.. Plus, I love that you tap left or right to turn as i’m not confortable at all with stirring the smartphone.
• Tracks: the games as a good variety of track and you can through Corsica, Greece, Australia, Finland,..
• Visible damages on the car

They are a couple of downside thought such as:

• Lack of cars
• No interior view
• Only daylight races
• No multiplayer.
• Only few game modes (to define)
• No Tuning options to setup your car before a race

The IOS version on Colin Mc rae Rally cost 2.99 USD and Android is priced at 0.99 USD.

#3 Asphalt Xtreme

I’m adding Asphalt Xtrem as number 3 in this ranking as it not properly a rally game. However, you do drive in mud so quote similar to Colin Mc Rae Dirt. Asphalt Xtreme was also in the ranking of best car racing game to play in 2017.

You can download the Android and IOS version for free with In app purchases.

#4 M.U.D Rally

M.U.D Rally is a free mobile rally game entering the ranking. As usual with free to play, you have ads and in app purchase if you wan to purchase more cars unless you want to wait, play and collect money to pay for the car!

M.U.D Rally has potential and could be much better with few tweaks such as the possibility to customise controls (tough if you have big fingers..)

You will be able to play in championship mode across 2 championships (J-Spec and S-Spec) for a total of 46 stages or play on Time Attack mode across rally in France, Italy, Finland, Mexico and Walles.

• 9 cars available to buy
• 5 rally location
• Fast paced and you can fill the speed

However,

• No multiplayer mode
• outdated graphics
• can’t adjust the controls
• No tuning options

#5 Pocket Rally

Pocket Rally is also a paid rally game on IOS and Android at 0.99 USD but also available as a lite version for free but only one race. Pocket rally does not offer the same realism and Rush Rally 2 and Colin Mc Rae rally. During the races, i always as the sensation that the car was slipping on the road with any ground grip.

Pocket Rally does’t offer a championship and focus on single race mode and Challenge mode on « imaginary » track such as Ancient City. In challenge Mode you have to play against opponents, finish the race under a said time or play in a rally cross.

Pocket Rally has the 3rd place in our top mobile rally game on IOS and Android. We note:

• Cars have good graphics
• interesting and demanding gameplay that will be fun on the long run if you are willing to invest time in this rally game

But however ,

• Too few game mode
• Not enough races
• No multiplayer mode
