As we have seen in our top mobile to buy in 2018, Asus has decided to enter the Mobile gaming market quite seriously by proposing a powerful phone, the Asus ROG Phone , as well as plenty of accessories to make sure that their target, the mobile gamers, can play the latest mobile games such has PUBG, Fornite and countless to come such as the awaited The Elder Scrolls: Blade in the best conditions.

So on the top of having a phone with high end specs :

Asus has decided to propose those mobile gaming accessories :

AeroActive cooler

The AeroActive cooler is a detachable cooling module for the smartphone that’s supposed to give a cooling boost when you are playing resources hungry games so you don’t have to compromise on framerate or graphics. The idea is to play in the best condition without your Android smartphone getting suddenly hot, which is the case with most of the smartphone after playing for a certain amount of time. On the top of that, when the AeroActive Cooler is attached to your ROG Phone, you get an extra USB-C port as well as a 3.5 mm headphone jack.

You can see in the video below that you can setup few settings of the AeroActive Cooler such as the Fan power and you can hear the fan noise in the video as you increase or decrease the power of the fan.

All in all it is a pretty neat accessory

Mobile Desktop Dock

The Mobile Desktop Dock allows the mobile gamers to connect the phone to an external screen supporting up to 4K UHD and connect a mouse/Keyword and Ethernet cable (up to 1 Gbps) for the perfect playing combo. Want better sound ? Use the S/PDIF  connexion to enjoy 5.1 channel surround-sound system. This is what you get with the Mobile Desktop Dock :

TwinView Dock

The TwinView Dock is a second screen « case » where you basically plug your phone. Think of it as a module that turn your ROG Phone into a kind of Nintendo 3DS. By plugin your phone to the TwinView, you get an extra 6-inch AMOLED screen with a resolution of 2160×1080 px as well as a front quad-speaker system, 2 right and left trigger, haptic-feedback engine, a cooling embedded cooling system and a massive 6000mAh battery to charge you phone while playing.

Potential use cases for the second screen include displaying map, inventory, video chat or even for live streaming , in the sense that you can interact with your audience will playing. As you can see in the video below, hardcore gamers will be even be able to play 2 games at the same time using the TwinView Dock !

Asus WiGig Dock

The Asus WiGig Dock let you play your wirelessly play your mobile games on TV ! You just need to connect the WiGig Dock to your TV or monitor via HDMI to play your favorite mobile games on your TV or simply to watch videos. The Asus WiGig Dock uses the technology WiGig, also know as Wi-Fi IEEE 802.11ad, Theorically, WiGig could offer data transfer rate up to 7 Gbit/s, which is about 11 times faster that 802.11n. If you want to know more about WiGig, you can visit the Wikipedia page.  So, thanks to WiGig, Asus promises a near-zero latency (under 20ms)

The WiGig Dock works best with Asus Rog Phone latest accessory :  Gamevice.

Gamevice

The Gamevice for ROG Phone allows you to connect the Gamevice gamepad to your ROG Phone with no pairing needed and have access to more than hundreds games already available on the Google Play.  With the Gamevice for ROG, you get :

• Dual Analog sticks
• D-Pad
• 4 buttons (A,B,X,Y)
• Left and Right Real Triggers
• L3 and R3 buttons

Note that the Gamevice is already available for iPhone and few selected Android device such as Galaxy S7 to Galaxy S9.

To conclude, all of those accessories looks great. Being able to play mobile games on the TV wirelessly with near zero latency is great, especially when we see now the rise of cloud gaming, it could really turn your mobile into a console, plus you can access hundreds of great games on the Google Play which features amazing graphics and gameplay.

Now, pretty sure you can wondering about the cost of those accessories. Well, the ROG Phone and its accessories are going to be an expensive package and Asus hasn’t really communicated about the price of both the phone and the accessories.  If you look at the phone itself, it is going to be above 1000 USD and first leaks pointed towards 1160 USD as spotted by a Reddit user (ROG Phone price) .

Regarding the accessories, we couldn’t find much information but this is what we can expext about the cost of those accessories :

Gamevice for ROG price:

Considering that the original Gamevice from 39.95 USD to 69.95 USD on the Galaxy line, we can bet the ROG version will be around the $70 .

Asus WiGig Dock price :

Not much informations has leaked about how much the Asus WiGig Dock will cost but a quick search on Amazon shows that this kind of dock, from Asus to Lenovo, sells for $100+

TwinView Dock price :

what is the price of the TwinView dock ? hard to say as couldn’t find any information online.  We will update this article as soon as we know more.

Mobile Desktop Dock price :

Again, not much info regarding how much will the Mobile Desktop Dock cost. However, this accessory is quite similar to the Samsung DeX dock, so considering that the DeX costed originally $149 (now with $100 discount) , we can expect at least a similar price for the Mobile Desktop dock.

AeroActive cooler

The AeroActive cooler is kind of hard to estimate how much it will cost but is should come bundled with the ROG Phone so that one gaming accessory for free!
