Paste a certain level, it’s get complicated to progress in Dynasty Warriors Unleashed and it can get complicated to beat some bosses as well as level up your characters.
Obviously, there is a quick way to level up your characters in Dynasty Warriors by doing in app purchases but below we go the hard way.
Below are some tips to level up officers and build the ultimate team in Dynasty Warriors Unleashed. At least it worked for me.

When I first started to play, it got tough pretty quickly and I spent time trying to build up my team. However, I didn’t see the messages from Nexon giving me coins, XP pouches or Jade Discs.
So first tip is to be careful and don’t miss out rewards. Don’t forget your daily scrolls and chest either and make sure you collect them all everyday. Note that you have 5 free bronze scrolls and 1 free gold edict per day, which is potentially 6 new characters per day.
Also, for the first 28 days, you will receive 2 rewards for login in, so make sure you play Dynasty Warriors Unleashed every day.
Finally, you will have to redo missions to increase your level to unlock Level based rewards. They give access to tons of gold to buy Magical Editcs.
Spend your gold in a Magical Edict to get 4 stars heroes
There is not much point in building a 3 stars characters, better start with a 4 stars to improve it to 5 stars giving a huge boost in attack, HP and overall power.
Nexon initial rewards include in particular gold and Jade Discs. The first thing I did was too use the gold to buy a Magical Edict containing 10 officers plus 1 4 stars guaranteed.
Chances are that you will have more than one 4 stars officers so start building up those ones.
Spend your Jade Discs to buy new bronze scrolls
In order to quickly level up your characters, you need to either apply an XP potion, which are not given away frequently, or combine characters which are frequently given away. After collecting all my rewards, I had around 600 Jade discs. I spent them all in bronze edicts giving around 60 characters from 1 to 3 stars. Use those officers to combine with your selected 4 stars officers.
Promote officers to 5 stars
By combining your officers, you will quickly get 4 stars officers. To promote a 4 stars to 5, you need to reach level 40 and combine him with four 4 stars officers. To promote a 5 stars officers you need to reach level 50 and combine with five 5 stars officers. It’s a bit more complicated.
Unlock Exploration mode to collect rewards
The Exploration Mode let you send officers to explore area and collect rewards. Most of the rewards are XP potions and chests that you can use. Use the XP gourds to increase your officers stats.
If you’re stuck, build up your level to unlock more area to explore so you can send several officers and collect more rewards.
Reach level 25 to unlock Conquest Mode
Conquest Mode let you conquest some areas in exchange of various rewards. I came across rewards such as 5000 XP points which is a great way to improve your characters stats. Make sure you are playing those missions with the characters that need the XP boost.
Improve equipment stats
Another way to improve your character starts is to improve it’s gears, including weapons, armor and seals. You will collect a lot of 1 star weapons and armours during the campaign mode so make sure you merge them all. You can also socket diamonds to upgrade your gears. More complicated is to increase your weapon stars as it needs specifics diamonds.
To conclude, progress in Dynasty Warriors Unleashed requires time but I would focus on building your characters stars above all. Make sure your spend every thing you collect and don’t forget your daily rewards.
