Everybody who loves manga knows about Naruto, created by Masashi Kishimoto. The manga focuses on Naruto Uzumaki, orphan with the demon fox Kyubi sealed inside him, and his dream to become Hokage. Their are 2 main Naruto games on iOS and Android: Naruto Shippuden : Ultimate Ninja Blazing and Naruto Mobile.
Naruto Shippuden Ultimate Ninja Blazing is an energy based unit placement game developed by Gree and published by Bandai Namco Entertainment. The game follows Naruto main story line starting back when Naruto wasn’t even a genin. In Ultimate Ninja Blazing, you will have to build your team by acquiring units ( understand shinobi) and level them up. The game offers PvE and PvP.

Overall, Naruto Shippuden Ultimate Ninja Blazing does the job. Both manga and anime are finished so the game brings back some pleasant memories along with an enjoyable gameplay and loads of characters.
Naruto Mobile (Tencent Mobile Games)
Naruto Mobile also focuses on Naruto Story from the previous chapter of the manga but with a 2D/3D hack and slash approach. The game is fluid offering a variety of characters and attacks. With your left thumb you control the character direction and with the right thumb the various attacks form punches to special ninjustu attacks. Naruto Mobile offers good graphics, sign that mobile can welcome other games that turn by burn strategy games.
The only issue, and that’s a big one I’m afraid, is that Naturo Mobile is not available in Europe nor US and only localised in Asia so no English version. However, the game will notify you for every updates available for your characters so will just miss out on the dialogues. But as Naruto fans, Don’t we know the story yet :-). Bleach: Brave Soul (KLab Games)
Bleach is the manga created by Tite Kubo in 2001. The manga describe the adventures of Ichigo Kurosaki, an ordinary young teenager who will soon wear Shinigami’s coat to fight the Hollows, dead spirits having accumulated too much rancor towards the livings. Bleach: Brave Soul is a free to play which follows the story to the letter so it would impossible to summarise the 658 chapters of the manga. And this is one of the biggest strength of the game!
KLab decided to create mix between RPG and Hack ‘N’ Slash. Before joining a mission, you will have to create a team of three characters from the roster of the series. Like most of this kind of game, each character has a level of rarity, which will make it more or less powerful, and each of them will be associated with an element, strong or weak against another. On a the top of that, each character has its own skills as well as its own characteristic and ability tree that you will have the possibility to upgrade, equipment slot and the possibility to link wiith another character to benefit from a passive capability.
All in all, Bleach: Brave Soul does honor to the manga. I would lie by saying that the game is perfect, but despite the repetitiveness of the first missions, Klab has managed to put into one single mobile game the 600+ chapters of the manga, nice graphics and smooth action with light RPG elements. Wheter you are fan or not, I strongly advise to download and try Bleach Brave Soul.

Dragon Ball Z Dokkan Battle (Bandai Namco Entertainment)
Do we need to present Dragon Ball Z, cult manga and anime created by Akira Toriyama which has fascinated more than one generation. The licence is so popular, regrouping millions of fans, that Bandai Namco Entertainment had to release a mobile game: Dragon Ball Z Dokkan Battle.
The story is a little confusing: A new enemy summoned the Dragon Balls and asked Shenron who is the strongest warrior. In order to grant the wish Shenron created a time-space fault to reunite all the warrior of the galaxy, time, etc,…basically, the plot is a pretext to reunite all the characters of the manga to please all the fans.
Behind the story, we have a traditional free-to-play focusing on exploration and fights. For the exploration side, Dokkan Battle uses a system inspired from snakes and ladders. You can move your character across the board landing of bonus/penalty as well as enemies to fight. The number of moves will be based on three randomly selected values, indicating the number of boxes to move. Then, you will have to calculate your movements as best as possible to land on beneficial boxes.
When it’s time to fight, this is when it becomes difficult to explain… the creation of your team use the same mechanics as Bleach Brave Soul, Naruto,..whereby you can evolve your team, each character has a level of rarity defining his strength, …. But when it comes to fight, your characters are in front of various orbs representing the colors of your characters. In order to attack, you have to select the orbs corresponding to your character and it will inflict damages based on your character stats. It’s a little confusing. What’s great tough, is that the attacks put your favorite characters in motion and it is extremely pleasant to see Son Goku unleashing a Kamehameha toward the enemy which will be ending crashing your screen!
Finally, Dragon Ball Z Dokkan Battle is not free of defect but every fans of Son Goku and Vegeta will love seeing their heroes fighting like in the manga.

One Piece Thousand Storm (Bandai Namco Entertainment)
One Piece is a a manga created by Eiichirō Oda in 1997 and totalising more than 84 tomes and 850 chapters. Quite popular isn’t it! One Piece Thousand Storm is the second iteration of One Piece on mobile, after One Piece Treasure Cruise. The gameplay is different as we are now playing a MMORPG when a gameplay similar to Bleach Brave Soul.
You start the game as Monkey D. Luffy along with Zoro, Sanji, Nami, or Usopp, depending on where you start (North, South, East or West blue). After the tutorial, the game starts from the Archipelago Arc. Your team will be then composed by 3 members Luffy/the other character (you can switch) + 2 others members. Then, each mission is divided into 2/3 enemies waves ending with either a generic or anime boss. Each mission will reward you with Medal and Scene Cards that you can use to acquire or evolve characters. As a fan of the manga, playing One Piece Thousand Storm is quite fun as it bring nostalgia and fan service.

I’m not familiar with Blazblue manga nor anime. Actually, Blazblue was first a video game before being adapted in manga. Still, I wasn’t familiar with the game at all. In any case, the game is a must play. Graphics are amazing and the gameplay super intense, which give a great game. To summarize quickly, Blazblue is a 2D beat-them-all with some RPG elements. You can unlock characters and improve him with new equipment, training,.. I think the best way to describe Blazblue is via this short gameplay video below.

Sword Art Online is a manga written by Reki Kawahara edited since 2009 and counting 18 tomes. in the manga, Sword Art Online is a game created by Akihiko Kayaba which requires the NerveGear, a VR Headset simulating the user senses in their brain. At the end of the Beta, the creator appears in the game telling the players that they are now locked in the game, and the only way to return to reality is to finish the game. However, a death in the game means a death in real life too.
On mobile, Sword Art Online is an Hack and Slash RPG. If you are fan, you’ll see that the graphics respect the anime. You will be able to play as Kirito, Asuna or Lyfa and to create your team. Fight are in real time so you’ll have to switch between characters to alternate attacks and deal more damages.
